Guangzhou (Canton), is the third largest city of China after Beijing and Shanghai and the capital city of Guandong Province. The city is a political, educational, economical and a cultural center. Guangzhou has a sub-tropical climate and best time to visit in the city is between Mid-October and Early November, but Mid-April and Early May are also good months. You must know that in these months the costs are high.

Ancestral Temple of the Chen Family- Chen’s Lineage Hall

Ancestral Temple of the Chen family located at Zhongshan 7th Road and it is the best museum in Guangzhou. The temple consists 9 halls, 6 courtyards and 19 buildings which connected by corridors. The museum is famous for their myths and exquisite decorations and the temple is similar than a Folks Art Museum with a lot of various crafts and arts. The temple is amazing with the very nice craft shops, the interesting historical displays and with the peaceful courtyards. In my opinion the most spectacular thing is the piece of architectural style in late Qing Dynasty.

If you want to visit this museum the address is No. 7 Zhongshan Road, Liwan District, Guangzhou 510150, China. The museum is open at 08:30 -17:30. The entrance-fee is inexpensive by month, by the temple will be open free of charge for one day. So, ticket free on Jan. 13, Feb. 24, Mar. 17, Apr. 14, May 18, Jun. (National Cultural Heritage Day), Jul. 14, Aug. 18, Sep 15, Oct. 13, Nov. 17, Dec. 15.

The museum located in the Yuexiu Park and it is close to White Cloud Mountain (about 1.3 miles) and (about 3 miles) away lines China Botanical Garden. Guangzhou Museum is very beautiful with a collection of over 160,000 pieces. It has two main areas: the Art Gallery which showing many local Craftworks and the Sea Guard Tower consist the historical relics. In the museum are a lot of machines and you can buy drinks for Rmb 4-5.

The entrance is free if show your passport, but the entrance is separate from the Sea Guard Tower and the Art Gallery. The Sea Guide Tower is open at 09:00 – 17:30 (stop entering at 17:00) and the Art Gallery 9:00 – 11:30, 13:00 – 17:30 (Close on Mondays and legal holidays). The address is No.34 Guangyuan Middle Road, Yuexiu District, Guangzhou 510040.

The Canton Tower also called “Guangzhou TV Astronomical and Sightseeing Tower” is one of the most spectacular new buildings with 600 meters high and designed by Mark Hemel and Barbara Kuit Dutch architects. The tour takes place for a Christmas Concert, the first was on 24, December 2012. The visitors can see far away at the top and can admire the scenery. At night the tower change its color. There are three laser lamps which reach as far as 1 kilometers.

The tower is open at 09:00-22:00. The entrance-fee is RMB 350. It is a good place for activities for older children. The address is No.222 Yuexiang West Road, Haizhu District, Guangzhou, China. Enjoy yourself!
