Cultural celebrations, entertainment, festivals, sports and shopping- China’s world city loves a party. The temperature is low, the average is -30° in Logqing Gorge, Harbin and Hong Kong. These are the main centers of winter parties. 

I collect the top 3 China Festivals in January and I hope that you will visit with one of them. Festivals in China are very good holiday experience, where the Western tradition mix with the Eastern cosmopolitan festivals. The first which I want to present is the Logquing Gorge Ice and Snow Festival, the second is the Harbin Festival and the last but not least is the Hong Kong Winter festival….

How to get there: bus 920 or 875 to Longqing Gorge

Longqing Gorge or we are also known as the “Little Three Gorges”, is located bout 80 km from Beijing. It is confidently shaded between two mountains. The Longqing Gorge Ice and Snow Festival are amazing, you will find hundreds of ice blocks and everything from sculptures about giant chessboards to a human-sized ice maze and huge Chinese dragons. You can do the Logging Gorge as a day trip, but its icy figures are the most beautiful in the evening when lit with a flood of colorful lights.

Among the ice work, there are many fixtures: Nature’s Annual Revival (Wangxianggengxin), the Peacock Welcoming Springtime (Kongqueyingchun), the Smiling Face (Xinchunxiaokaiyan) and the Soaring Dragon (Longteng). The tourists can admire not just the ice works, but the amazing firework, pageants and folk dance as well and you can try ice activities such as ice fishing. Enjoy yourself!

The annual Ice and Snow Festival is Harbin offers winter travel experiences such as winter swimming watching, Siberian Tiger watching and Ice hotels. It is one of world’s four biggest such ice and snow festivals all over the world and thousand of people travel to China to celebrate the winter and to admire the view.Many activities are there, which you can’t miss:

  • you can drink in ice bars
  • you can watch polar animals
  • you can explore the Manchu culture
  • can play ice slides, Watch fishing and diving performance on the frozen Songhua River
  • at night, you can watch the ice sculptures
  • you can display all kinds of snow sculptures by artists from all over the world

Location: Hong Kong


The Hong Kong Winter Festivals are a memorable event for the tourists which contains many festivals in one. Statue Square received a festive: the BRILLIANT TIFFANY HOLIDAY. The rest of the city dresses up an 18-meter tall Christmas tree and a 24- seat carousel  Tiffany Funland,  Santa’s House and Bridge of True Love in  a “winter wonderland”.

During the festival, the restaurants serve holiday menus and the shopping malls entertained shoppers with Christmas villages and winter sales. Hong Kong is the town of the festivals with a spectacular pyrotechnics display.
