Xi’an is the oldest city in China and the capital city of Shaanxi province. The transportation in the city is very busy, it is easily goes on foot and you can save time. Xi’an Ancient City Wall

The most beautiful attraction for the tourists is the Ancient City Wall which is located in the downtown area of the city. The city wall is tall, massive and thick. The wall is a military defense system with various parapets, battlements and observation towers. It was constructed about 1400 years ago and finalized with the current layout with the South Gate Yongning Gate, East Gate Changle Gate, West Gate the Anding Gate and the Nouth Gate or Anyuan Gate behind the main 4 city gates.

The entrance fee is 40 Yuan but by bicycle is cheaper 20 Yuan. The opening time is –                          South Gate: 08:00-21:00.
                             – Wenchang Gate, East Gate, West Gate, North Gate: 08:00-20:00.
                                – Shangde Gate, Wumu Gate (aka Xiaonan Gate): 08:00-18:00.


The Bell tower

The Bell tower of Xi’an city is a traditional building and a geographical center of the ancient city. The Bell tower extends North, West, South and East Streets which connected to the gates of the City Wall of the Ming Dynasty period. The wooden tower is the best-preserved and largest building of its kind of China with 36 meters height. In the northwest part, the visitors can see the Forest of Stone Stele Museum. The doors reflect the decorative fashion of Quing Dynasty which recounting popular stories of China.

The tower opening time is 8:00 – 22:00 (Apr. 1 – Oct. 31); 8:00 – 17:30 (Nov. 1 – the next Mar. 31). The visitors can go by bus the Subway Line 2 and get off at tower station. The Bell Tower is one of the most beautiful destinations in your visit to Xi’an.


Shaanxi History Museum

The Shaanxi History Museum is a modern national museum which is located on the northwest side of Big Wild Goose Pagoda on the Xiaozhai Road. The museum reflects the architectural style of the Tang Dynasty around with the central hall and the worship halls. The main colors are black, gray and white which are present in the hall. The halls are divided into 4 main parts the exhibition hall for Tang Mural Paintings, the Preface Hall, the temporary exhibition halls and the permanent halls. The Permanent Halls show the Xian’s culture in three exhibition halls separately.

The museum gives 4,000 free tickets a day. The opening time is Tuesday-Sunday:
09:00 to 17:30 (Nov.15 to Mar.15; tickets available before 16:00); 08:30 to 18:00 (Mar.16 to Nov.14; tickets available before 16:30) and it is closed on Monday. The reservation phone number is : 029-85269547.
