The tea is the most popular drink in China, Chengdu in the past and present. Chengdu tea houses are inside and outside, you can choose your favorite place because it is open all year. The China culture is advanced with tea houses which are funny, eye-catching and interesting.

The best tea houses and tea are in Chengdu. Naturally, different people are different taste, but I listed the top tea houses and I hope that you will like it…

 

The “Living Room”Teahouse

Address: Wuhou Area, 1 Yulin Nanlu, Chengdu

 

In this tea house the visitor can relax, watch TV, play Majiang (card game), smoke and let the day pass by. It is the best place for tea lovers, the tourists can go with friends and enjoy the various tea. The tea list is very long so you can taste what you want.
The Gonfu tea is the most populous tea in the living room tea house which the visitor can buy on the first floor. It is a special atmosphere with bamboo chairs for the visitors.

Yuelai’s Address: Jinjiang Area, Huaxingzheng Road, 54 inside Jinjiang Theater

 

Shunxing Ancient Teahouse is the best place to drink a tea and watch the Sichuan Opera. The performance is interesting, because the show is entertaining that people who don’t speak Chinese.

The Yuelai teahouse is the cheap version of this, but the entertaining depends to understanding the Sichuan opera. The show start 14:00 to 16:00 every Tuesday and Saturday.

Laozhaiyuan’s Address: Wide Narrow Alleys, 11 Kailu Laozhaiyuan, Chengdu

 

Most of this tea houses are fancy and offer the Sichuan show. But, one of this tea houses has something special. The Laozhaiyuan  is one of the oldest tea houses in Chengdu, which is peaceful and quite. This house is 200-year-old where no performances, but you can sit and feel yourself in the ancient China.

  • Zhiji Teahouse is located in Culture Park
  • Sanhua Pagota is located on the river by Baihuatan Park

 

The Heming tea house in People’s Park is a romantic atmosphere with the tasty teas and with tranquil and picturesque surroundings. You can relax in the People’s Park and enjoy the Wenshu Monastery area, where are many other outdoor tea houses.

The People’s Park tea houses are very old history of more than a hundred years. The visitors can try the Culture Park, there is the Sanhua tower, next to the river where the visitors give a riverside experience.
